When Krishna saw villagers preparing for the annual worship of Indra – the God of thunder and rain and the king of Devas – he questioned the need for worship and debated that villagers should emphasise on their duty of farming and not to conduct sacrifices for natural phenomenon like rain. Thus Krishna teaches people the importance of doing Dharma – one’s duty and rightful conduct. This made Indra furious and jealous and he ordered clouds to rain heavily on the village. Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain on his small finger and asked all the villagers to take shelter beneath the mountain. Indra realised the true identity of Krishna as supreme God Vishnu and apologised and retreated the cloud.

He has been practicing his art form from the last 40 years now.
