Tripura Sundari is a form of Hindu Goddess Shakti, one of the ten Mahavidyas (Wisdom Goddesses). Her name means "beautiful maiden of the three worlds" and she represents Adi Shakti, the primordial feminine energy. She is also known as Shodashi, meaning "sixteen years old," symbolizing her eternal youth and beauty.
- Tripura Sundari resides in the three worlds: manas (mind), buddhi (intellect), and chitta (consciousness). She is the mother of the Hindu trinity of Gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, and is also known as Kameshwari, the goddess of desire.
- As the Kundalini energy ascends through the chakras, it reaches the Soma chakra and unites with Kameshwara Shiva (the desire form of Shiva), taking the Yogi to a state of self-awareness.
- The Tripura Sundari Yantra is contained within a Bhupur (a square with four T-shaped doors), which provides access to the Yantra. Inside the Bhupur, there are twenty-four petals, representing twenty-four elements.
-
The Bhupur is green in color, symbolizing balance, being a combination of hot yellow and cool blue. The six-pointed star inside the circle of petals represents the union of male and female energy (Kameshwari and Kameshwara), with Kameshwara Shiva depicted as a lingam at the base of the innermost triangle.
